How do I get 'back to my mac' to work?

I want to control my office mac at home, but I cannot get 'back to my mac' to work.

I suppose you read this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1109 ? Otherwise maybe try it with VNC, I never used "get back to my mac", but I did the same with VNC. Maybe your router at office doesn't have UPnP? You have to forward a port?
