ive tried this same thing and no luck. Mac video cards have something in the chipset it seems.

I think I can help - I use Reason and this seems like this is as simple as checking your input and output settings in your system preferences. If you're on later I can help you out...

That is actually true. You can't just upgrade photoshop to CS4 if you purchased the CS3 package.

I'd certainly go with the Macbook if you can do without the Firewire port. The Pro is just too big and heavy to lug around everyday.
